 WELCOME TO ELTHAM MEN'S SHED

Established in 2014, Eltham Men’s Shed is a community-based, not for profit, volunteer organisation that provides a safe and friendly environment where men can meet other men, develop new friendships and connect with their community. Our purpose is to support the health and well-being of our members.

The Shed offers a variety of social and practical activities throughout the week including Wood and Metal Workshops, Bicycle Restoration, Gardening, Technology and Photography. Members are able to work on projects at their own pace in their own time and in the company of other men.

Our weekly social gathering updates members on current activities, invites guest speakers and provides an opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and chat. A variety of other social activities are available including group travel, 4WD outings and dinners.

By April 2024 the the Technology Group had completed three, 6-week, PC training course at the Eltham Men's Shed.

The course is designed and run by members for fellow members, family members and friends and is intended for those with little or no experience with computers.  The course is especially designed to be "hands on" with a minimum of theory and lots of time to practice. The topics covered included:
  • Intro. to computers and Windows11
  • Internet browsing
  • Use of to email
  • Intro. to word processing (MS Word)
  • Online banking
  • Centrelink and MyGov.
The shed is grateful to Kate Thwaites, the local Federal MP for her support in obtaining a federal government grant to purchase the necesary equipment to conduct the course.

Further courses are planned for 2024.  The course is available to members of the public and is free.  Contact the Eltham Men's Shed for more details.
